The aim of this action is to support world-class researchers for a period of research and training, encouraging them to resume or further develop their careers in Europe.

Aim: The aim of this action is to support world-class researchers for a period of research and training, encouraging them to resume or further develop their careers in Europe.
Profile of the chair holder: Experienced researchers of all nationalities are eligible. The chair holder will give lectures and teach research courses to students as well as carry out research and supervise research and thesis work.
Profile of the host: The host institutions can be legal entities (universities, research centres or enterprises) established and located in an EU or Associated State (e.g. Hungary) and they must be active in research or research training.
Duration of the appointment: 1-3 years
Number of fellowships: approx. 15/call, next deadline: 21 January 2004.
Expenses covered by the Commission when going from the US to Hungary:
- fellowship/salary of the chair holder: monthly living allowance + mobility allowance + travel allowance, varying between ?27 219,5 and 72 362,5 per year (= $31 073,5 ? 82 608,5) (gross amount) depending on the type of recruitment (stipend/employment contract), family status, travel distance between the place of origin and the host and level of research experience (more or less than 10 years of experience);
- contribution to the expenses of the host: real research expenses (e.g. consumables, research facilities) + management activities (3% of Community contribution) + overheads (10% of additional direct costs) + possible equipment expenses.
